Delays! Yay!

Neweg is being a bunch of fuckers. Apparently, the fact that I'm shipping the parts to an address OTHER than my billing address means three DAYS of delay between them taking my money, and them sending my parts.

Don't know if I'm going to be able to get my computer back up and running by tomorrow. If they ship the parts today, then yes, and I've been told that they SHOULD be shipped today, but it's not a guarantee. So my computer may be out of commission all week, for fuck's sake.

And all because I don't want $350 shipped to an apartment building. Gee, I can't imagine why I wouldn't want all that expensive computer stuff sitting outside my door for several hours while I'm at work. Can't imagine at all.

So, I apologize, it looks like this is going to take longer than I thought.

  1. It's more of a problem with your bank than it is with Newegg. Newegg is trying to run additional checks to see if the order is legit, but for whatever reason, your bank is taking it's sweet time to validate it.

I regularly have Newegg ship to an address other than my billing address, and I've never had a problem, but my bank does require me to pass a couple extra online security checks when I do this.

You may be able to speed-up the process by calling your Bank/CC/Debit Card/PayPal, and then perhaps Newegg once the bank does their job.

  2. Another thing is you can add that (The other shipping address) typically to the "card" as a Validated address and that tends to take care of the issue. Note: this does depend on your bank. But like Æthar I routinely have things sent elsewhere then my billing address. (Normally to work)

  3. You'll be lucky if they send it today. The same thing happened when I ordered my newest computer and it took them like a week in a half to ship it. =/

  6. Guh, I know what you mean about having things shipped to an apartment. I've had thousands of dollars of medical equipment (for my mom) thrown over gates, left outside the door and otherwise abused and mishandled by the post. Hell, I've even caught post men deciding to, rather than lifting a small package and carrying it to the door, just write up the paper that says they tried to deliver it and basically play ding-dong ditch. I hope that your stuff gets sent right. That stream was the first I was planning on watching.

  7. Very hard to trust the post for anything of any value, monetary or otherwise.

Have had a notification for a very important certified letter, concerning an interview I had been accepted for, be delivered two months after the fact.

  8. Agreed with poster 1. I also, out of the blue, shipped new parts to someone else's house (So that my family wouldn't get wind of the upgrades) and they actually even came two days earlier than the estimated arrival date (I picked super saver 5-7 business day shipping).

  9. I regularly send stuff to my work address. It's probably your credit card withholding payment until they investigate for fraud. Suggest you speed things along and get your credit card to authorize the transaction OR by adding it as a valid ship-to address on file (of the credit card).
