Mass Effect 3

Phew. Finished it. Amazing.

As for the endings that a lot of people don't seem to like? Those people are crazy. The end was the best part. The best part.

  2. Actually most people don't mind the very ending as much as they lack information to judge how well they did in their game and how their characters ended. For example, what happened with Edi and Joker, what about Liara, how many did survive the battle and so on.

Still it was one of best games I played, so I agree with you on endings. They ended with Sherapd being epic.

  3. I do wonder about the ending the writer of 1 had in mind though, before they brought the new people in to write it.

  4. Regarding the endings, there is a feeling among gamers that the players choices didn't really matter in the end. All of those deep and morally challenging decisions the player made throughout the series was minimized to three colored dialogue choices in the conclusion. To be fair, there was nothing Bioware could of done to please everyone.

TDR: The ending is lazy because your choices didn't matter.

    1. This is generally the case with Bioware games though, the start and end points for the most part the same no matter what you do durring the game...it is the path you take to those points that changes based on how you play the game, and in ME3 there are some fairly big differances in the paths you take depending on what you did in 1 and 2.

    2. Yeah... pretty much doing everything to attain the 'best' ending and well... you can survive, but destroy the Geth and EDI, both which I like. >.>

  5. SPOILERS

Well, if you destroyed the reapers, you destroyed all machines. That includes EDI, the Geth, and any other machine.

The other thing I was wondering about was that since basically the entire galaxy was at earth, wouldn't that mean that since the Mass Relays are gone, that almost all of them can't get back home?

A third thing with the "Best" ending. It shows Shepard gasping for breath in a pile of rubble. More like cement, and the Citadel wasn't made of cement, and Shepard couldn't have survived such a long fall. Something tells me Shepard was knocked out the entire time from when the reaper attacked and either Anderson or The Illusive Man made the choice.

    1. :::SPOILERS::

in reguards to your second thing they do have FTL travel that does not require the Mass Relays...any travel between systems in a single cluster uses that. The Mass Relays where bascially just way to get halfway or more across the Galaxy instantainiously...instead of in weeks, months or years, wich "conventional" FTL travel requires.

As far as your third thing goes, Shepard road a beam of light up to the Citadel, and road a differant beam down...killing himself along the way as it tore him apart(second best end) or the resitance that tore him a part slowed him down enough that he survived the trip(best ending)

    2. In universe FTL travel would take a mere 5 years to the Turian homeworld. Salarian, Asari are about two/three times as far. The Quarian/Geth are on the other side of the Galaxy.

Sure FTL exists, But it is in no way useable on a galactic scale.

Third point: Shepard shoots the machine, it explodes in his/her face. N7 armoured person takes a breath in rubble. Where's the riding down another beam?

True true, but remember that the ship design were optimised for use with the mass relays.

I guess that they would fall back to other methods. Maybe sleep ships or giga vessels with massive fuel storage/drives

    4. 5-15 years from home is hardly not being able to get back...yeah, it will take a LONG time(even longer if Relativity plays into it...which it doesn't seem to based on the lack of much of a time passage in the local system jumps), but they can and would get back... heck technically until resonantly the Quarian(home) was the very ships they took to earth.

BTW, as far as endings go you choose one of the ones I haven't yet, but that is beside the point Shep "beamed" up-to the Citadel if he survived his choice at the catalyst who's to say the AI didn't beam him back down before it was destroyed.

    5. oh and btw the "BEST" ending which is what I was talking about is not the one where Shep shoots the machine...it is the third choice.

  6. So now I can predict how Cursed will end.

Suddely, a wizard will show up, and offer you 3 choices.

    1. Kill every magic user in the world, including yourself.

    2. (I can't think of a good control analog)

    3. Turn Everyone into the opposite gender

  7. It also strange for me that so much people hate ending. For me it the most strong ending I have ever seen in games.

  8. I was just confused how the squad members I brought with me on the last mission ended up in the Normandy. If they stuck an in between shot that explains the time Shepard was choosing and the last scene it would sit a little better with me. I liked the ideas, but the execution could have been a little less confusing.

    1. I agree with you. If the ending was a bit less confusing, I would have like it more, because the lead up was fucking awesome.

Who watched til after the credits?

  9. I agree with the Shepard part of the story, Sad, since the first time I did it, I only had like 2600. But they needed something that explained why the Normandy was headed for the relay. I have a hard time believing Joker and my crew would ditch Earth without some explanation. Of course, now they have a reason to make a DLC mission to explain it and charge us all more money to iron out the questions. lol.

  10. The best part?

The ending cinematic i agree but the screen after that was just a sign: BUY OUR DLC!!!

    1. Well at this point most of the DLC is probably going to be aimed at people who haven't run around gathering almost every resource to get the final ending. Maybe they will do another lead in to the next Mass Effect game. I went back and read a lot of posts by Bioware staff and I didn't find one that said this was the last game in the Mass Effect series, just that this is the last game for Shepard.

  11. I personally think it sucks. There are too many plot holes. For example 1) How the hell did Joker manage to get down to earth's atmosphere when the Normandy is described as too big to safely manage such in a hurry. 2) how the hell did he have time enough to pick everybody up. 3) How did garrus who was with me on the final charge get back to the normandy and how did he survive? 4) why did he leave my femshep behind when they were romancing. >_>

    3. I don't know if the end was the best part but I did feel satisfied finishing what for me was the best game series of the past few years.
BioWare thought the average mass effect gamer to be at least a little more mature,if not anything else, they probably would have made the game end diferently if they didn't but if they actually expected this reaction and decided to end game like this anyway the only think I can say is RESPECT !
Anyway arguing that it's not about "whiny gamers who didn’t get enough sunshine and puppies in their ending" and then explaining yourself so that whiny 15yr olds with no more than average intelligence can relate does not seem very convincing .

  14. well I don'r really like how it ended but I don't hate the ending cuz of that....tbh I find the endings interesting but at the same time a bit disapointing as well...especially where there suppose to be the ending where anderson survives and yet I haven't came across it yet (was waiting for 4 days till my EMS dropped between 4-5k and tryed it with above 5k)...as for the part where your crew crashlands....well in my 1st playtrough with default maleshep the squadmates who were with me on the conduit rush ended up on the normandy (it is confusing but hey maybe they took a shuttle and ran for it when they saw cruicible firing or smth) and with my femshep the ppl coming out of the ship were samantha (who was the romance choice) and Javik....basically just random crew members instead of ash and Liara who were down on Earth with me.As for the shep indoctrination theories I find them interesting but also kindah retarded in a way since if shpard was really beeing indoctrinated the VI on Thessia would notice that (since it notices kai leng beeing indoctrinated as soon as he walks into the "room") so I guess that's all the proof for me to put that theory in a no go box. In any case I should stop blabbering now and should go back to ME3
