Homework is Down, calling for Exfiltration

I don't know what the deal is with that subject line.

Anyway, streaming. Other than cleaning up some later today, I don't have anything to do, so let's see how far I can get.

  1. I think that today is going to be a good day! :-)

  2. Welcome back, AM! Hope the school projects turned out well.

  3. Not sure how much this is to ask, but I have two requests:

    1) Make long-term bisexuals stay bisexual. Maybe make the away-from-50 Sexuality shift have a probability that decreases with time, or something like that.

    2) Make Switches. At the moment, if Dominant_acts_counter > 10 the character becomes Dominant forever after and can never submit to anyone, and if Submissive_acts_counter > 10 the character is Submissive from then on, with no opportunity to be Dominant. As an alternative:

    if ( Dominant_acts_counter > ( Submissive_acts_counter * 2 ) && Dominant_acts_counter > ( Submissive_acts_counter + 10 ) )
character becomes Dominant, and only Dominant and neutral options will be available.
    if ( Submissive_acts_counter > ( Dominant_acts_counter * 2 ) && Submissive_acts_counter > ( Dominant_acts_counter + 10 ) )
character becomes Submissive, and only Submissive and neutral options will be available.
    if ( Submissive_acts_counter > 20 && Dominant_acts_counter > 20 && character != Dominant && character != Submissive )
character becomes Switch, and all sets of options will be available forever.

    1. For what it's worth, I wholeheartedly support the above post.

For the bisexual mechanic, if "freezing" the value is impractical, the rate of change could be modified (to crudely mimic a geometric progression, or something, I'm bad with jargon). I offer the following as a concept:
a separate counter tracks how many consecutive times the PC has copulated with a particular sex, e.g. for every hetero event, the counter is incremented, and for every homo event the counter is decremented. The catch is, every time event type changes, the counter is first reset to zero.

So, having 5 hetero events in a row would bump the counter to 5, but then having 1 homo event would reset it to zero, and then bump it down to -1.

After every event, the Sexuality stat would be modified by (counter * _static_value_), or through whatever other sort of equation that would fit and make it happy

This is entirely too long, anyway, all my kudos.

    2. Are Dominant/Submissive traits correctly implemented anyway? I played a little and was trying to get them but with no success. Then I even tried to get them from Maria after successful quest, and guess what - it didn't work even then. Yes, getting anything from Maria worked fine, but no luck for Dominant or Submissive trait. Therefore my conclusion that these two are not implemented (or bugged).

    3. They work for me. They take a while, but there are things you can do to work towards them. In particular, certain items of footwear will push you one way or the other. Hang on!

      http://cursedgame.wikia.com/wiki/Traits_and_Sexual_Traits

Thigh-high boots for dominant, ballet heels for submissive. Take a walk in them first thing every morning and you should get the trait in a month.

    4. Ok, I'll give it a try. Nevertheless you can't get Dominant/Submissive traits from Maria, so at least this is bugged.
Making footwear as primary item to get these traits seems a little dubious for me. Especially those ballet heels for sub... I'd never ever guess that by myself. I admit thighhigh boots for dom are more intuitive, but to be honest first things I thought as absolutely neccesary were such items as collars or handcuffs.

    5. They aren't really the primary method (but using the shoes really speeds up the progress). You can get them in about a month without ever using the shoes (depending on what job you choose) if you stick to that mentality.

  4. I like concept of your game, but engine is awful. It takes you 8 hours just to implement a few raws of text in your game. And it makes donations kind of useless. Whan you donate 50-100$ you kind of expecting quite a lot, for example in coruption of champions for this money you can get a new npc with his/her own quest, but cause of engine in your game, there is not much you can do.

Sooo... maybe you better change engine? If people will see that for theirs money they can get sufficient amount of content they will donate your game, and me also.

  5. it was explained on later post that AM could not go and change the engine because he would have to restart his work from the begening because the coding technique would be defferent

  6. also im sharing some toughts here not full ideas :

    1) in the exercices action for werewolves or succubi we could have a Go hunt action where our pc can ex fly around toun and find some pc to get off with
2)succubus queen x) trought having more sex or by some dream picturing the pc going to hell and beinng proclaimed queen of succubi because of the power and magic she harvested from the mortals

  7. "it was explained on later post that AM could not go and change the engine because he would have to restart his work from the begening because the coding technique would be defferent"

Ok, then no donations = no motivation = just another incomplete game. I think it's better to start from the begining than ruin your experience of game maker.

Personally I like what he do, but I don't want to pay 60$ for 2 scenes with 3 raws of text each. Sry, but for 60$ you can buy complete "A" game like Skyrim.

I inderstand that I donate not for a game but for hours of work, but cause of engine anonymous man can't do much of content.

And then again, everybody can do whatever they want. I just want this game to BE. So... donations = motivation = a lot of content.

    1. Personally I would not reference "Skyrim" as a complete game when they cant even get their own expansion packs to work right let alone release a patch to fix it.

    2. However, switching engines could mean going all the way back to square one, and AM started closer to square two, with the mechanics of the User Interface pre-programmed.

Starting could also kill Cursed, as it might take weeks, or even months to get something remotely playable.

    3. Or even longer, maybe the one's that have been complaining so much should write up a few events of their own and send them to anonymousman to help out

      Delete
  8. Yeah well what you don't understand is how much work he's put into this game. Honestly. If it takes that long to just put a few raws in, how much time do you think he spent actually doing the entire game? More than you have the time for.

  9. heck i hope that anonymous man did not quit his rl job to do this cause he would be living in a shoe box however if he still has a real life then ya this will be a part time job that barely pays for itself afterall most internet by itself cost at least 50 $ have no idea where my rant is going it just left me

    ReplyDelete
  10. Okay first of all if you are just going to troll him and say that he doesn't get any progress done if you donate to him then GET THE FUCK OUT.

Second of all If you are going to complain about the engine he is using then I would love to see you do better. RAGS is a great engine for him to use for this type of game.

And Third of all if you are going to take the time to criticize him then at least have the balls to not hide behind the name Anonymous.

    1. Are you the guy that was trolling people for giving criticism a few weeks back?

    2. So... not hiding behind the name Anonymous. Do I have the right to say something now?

  11. The thing with this game is the code is nontrivial, but more importantly due to complete lack of graphics there's no shiny rendering to hide behind. The quality of the game is based entirely on the gameplay and content, something we haven't seen in mainstream gaming since the mid-nineties.

That the game is of as high quality as it is with the technical limitations of the format is truly impressive, and I am checking the site for updates daily just to see what all's going on.

So, in short, quit yer bitching and just accept that the man is more creative and talented than you are, get over yourself and just shut the hell up.

    1. The writing is really well done. I used to be a fan of pictures in these games, but finding the right picture for the scene is probably maddening, and writing the scene for the picture probably cramps an author's style. Great job A-man.

    1. Its not to difficult I'm making my own actually, and if you can do creative writing you should write up a few scenes for jobs and stuff like that and send them to him it will help him a lot, hes even mentioned that he would be more than happy for people to do that.

  13. Events are too hard! The induce luck does nothing, I just get so bored trying to trigger an event taking walks over and over and over and over...
You know what this game needs? SCHEDULING. Just like slave maker maybe. That's one solution...another is to make the induce luck spell actually do something

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is something I would really like, actually. Being able to put together a schedule, if even for only a few specific hour blocks. Take some of the mindless grind out of the game.

    2. I third this! A nice idea.

    3. Cursed is almost dead and you r talking about shedule sigh...

    4. I'm not dead! In fact, I think I'm getting better!

      Delete
    5. Yay for zombie AM

      Delete
    6. The game is nowhere near dead and I think scheduleing is a terrible idea. The point of the game is to be put into the shoes of a woman, pointless daily grind and all, the game isin't just fap material.

  14. Could we get a percentage update on the Update Information? At least to bring it into the new year maybe?

And yes I am Mathew from the post above.

    1. That would be nice, but I don't want to rush him or push for anything. Im honestly just grateful that he is spending so much of his time working for us.

      Delete
    2. A percentage update would be nice, or perhaps a vague estimate of when the next update might be (I'm talking vague as in like, a month, two months, etc - not even narrowing it to weeks)

      Delete
  15. There are a lot of samaritans here that don't want to push.

    But I want to push.

So, anonymous man, how much money do you need (donations) to complete all the least above in january (no delays)? Make donation day and lets do it.

    1. The man works, goes to school, and is married. While I am sure more donations are always welcome, I see the constraint as being both time and sanity. This game is a lot of work and it shouldn't be a second job or merely even a part time job.

      Delete
    2. Here's an answer from Anonymous, on behalf of AnonymousMan, to that question:

R.K. Milholland does a comic strip called Something*Positive. He used to update it occasionally, and post little lines at the bottom of each strip. Sometimes they were humourous. Sometimes they were about the strip. Sometimes they were about the news. Sometimes they were about how much his RL job sucked.

One day, he posted an announcement. He'd been getting a lot of emails asking for more strips and a lot of emails saying that if his RL job sucked that much he should quit it. His announcement was an offer: "Put more money in the donation box in the next six months than I make in a year in that crappy job, and I'll quit it and draw full-time."

      He quit within a month.

So, AM, just how much do you make in a year at your RL job, and how much do you love it?

    3. $25-30K.

And I would probably not want to do that anyway.
