Friday (Progress Report)

Sorry, yesterday was a weird day.

Three and a half hours, not too shabby, I guess.

I set aside the bikini contest for now, to work on something else that piqued my interest in my notebook: furniture. I know what you're thinking: I have weird thoughts and tendencies.

Anyway, I'm adding in a furniture system. The first thing I worked on is the television system. No longer will it be random: now you can choose what channel you'd like to watch. The basic TV only has four channels: comedy, drama, cartoons and news. In most cases, watching TV will give you an arousal reduction as you relax. However, vegging out in front of the TV isn't the best use of your time, and may result in the lost of a skill point or two. These skill points are refunded back to the skill pool, so they're not lost permanently. In fact, it could be a way to (very slowly) reallocate skill points, if you're interested in that.

If you get bored with the basic four channels, you can head to the electronics store and invest in either a better TV (only one available, the HDTV. The EDTV has been removed), or you can buy cable or satellite service. Each will add three channels, but cable/satellite has a monthly fee. You're never required to pay the fee - if you don't, you just can't watch TV - and you can set it to automatically renew every 30 days if you want. If you're technically inclined and lacking in morals, you can even hack the receiver box to get free cable/satellite, but if the cable/satellite company finds out about it, expect to pay a hefty fine.

The full list of channels available will be Cartoon, Comedy, Drama, News, Music, Shopping, Technology, Sports, Live Sports, Adult (Porn), Gay/Lesbian.

Additional furniture options to come will include things like choosing your style of bed, customizing your shower, changing your kitchen around, new couches, new chairs, decorations, and lighting.

  1. I'm actually super excited for more in depth home stuff! Personalizing my house was always my favorite part of Sims, so this should be fun. I can only hope that there will be a way to upgrade to a better apartment too. Would be a nice way to get rid of those pesky people from your past, too. Lol.

  3. Looking forward to no longer living with spartan decor! Especially since some play troughs I've had should have been decorating with posters and the like from online, the way I played them, anyway... Can we order small things like that from the computer, or is it all going to be in "The Bucket" at the mall?

  4. So I got something that would work for spell that increases your skill point
What about making it decrease you magic skill by 10 or so points and give you 15-20 points in return?
