Man, all I really want to do today is play X-Com.
I'm going to be streaming the game for a couple of hours, then working on coding...then probably more X-Com. It's so good!
Edit: My wife roped me in to apartment cleaning, but I'm streaming now. Want to at least finish futa balls in the next couple of hours.
play you in multiplayer :P

As a fellow x-com player. I have to agree; game is fantastic.
ReplyDeletePatch today, 2 Gigs. No notes yet tho.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a coincidence that they are patching it now that it releases in EU.
Deleteah patching, a dev's excuse to do some interesting stunts
DeleteX-Com 1994 was always one of my favorite games. Truly a classic. All I can say about X-Com 2012 is DAMN! Thank you 2K games and Firaxis. You did this one right. If you've played X-Com 1994 then you need to play X-Com 2012. If you haven't ever heard of X-Com then you need to play X-Com 2012. It is awesome. Caution: X-Com 2012 may be highly addictive and will likely turn you into an X-Com fanboy/fangirl if you're not already.
ReplyDeleteSo what you are saying is (+2 Weeks) ;-P
DeleteX-com is the AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you love more? X-COM or Anonymous Man Wife?
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda a silly question don't you think?
DeleteNot really. I know guys who would rather give up their families then their cars.
DeleteI've found the ending to be underwhelming...
ReplyDeleteonly played the demo, but would you say it's worth buying for PC? (last I herd it was also going to be on console.)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll be getting at least a little flack for this, but here's my 5cents.
DeleteGet it for console.
On PC it's the definition of a console-port. Simplified menus, bad controls, near-zero customization, horrid console inventory management (there is none), silly illogical things like only having one Skyrider(can only send out 1 crew on missions at at time, so eventually you'll have 100+ soldiers rolling their thumbs everytime you go out on missions . . ).
The list goes on, and it all boils down to "because console".
On top of it all, under the hood the game is ridiculously simple, there's barely any "core mechanics" at all, what you get at the demo is what you'll get for the entire game. There's no intricate details that you can learn, optimize and conquer.
It's just cover, chance-to-hit, Damage, Health, and 3-4 generic "class traits".
I bought it, and I'm buying a XBOX360 controller to go with my PC so I can continue playing without feeling like a complete moron.
If you don't have a console you might want to wait a while so the mod makers can sort out the PC version, like they did with skyrim.
Thanks for the info.
DeleteI thought it would get better in the stuff after the demo as in more customization and what not.
I could live with the combat system like that, but the 1 crew @ a time and the lack of customization will make me avoid this game till it's around $5 or I forget about it as I don't have any of the current consoles.
The demo didn't pull me in to the point of "I want it".
And thanks again for taking the time to respond.
