Still Pecking Away At Things

Words still aren't coming with the consistency that I'd like, but they are coming, slowly. At this point, Maria's dialogue for the end of the mission is about half done, as is Britney's dialogue during the mission. I could just do placeholder text, but eh. Writer's block sucks, man.

In the meantime, whenever I feel particularly unmotivated, I've been working on adding some submitted content that I've, well, not really been ignoring, but rather putting off. There's some random travel events, some work events, and a couple other things that I've added. Good news for people who like random events: the list of random travel events has increased (so far) from 11 to more than 20, and there's still at least a dozen more events to add, both ones that I've written and ones that have been submitted to me.

With the sheer amount of random travel events available now, you'll notice a few things that'll be different. First and foremost, the frequency of such events will be increased. Where before you had a 1% chance of hitting a travel event, now it'll be 2%. That doesn't sound like a lot, but trust me, it is. Second, the frequency of individual events is going to be completely changed. For example, of the events that are currently in the game, the hair color change (which is also getting altered slightly, FYI) has the highest chance of occurring, almost 10%. With the new events, the hair color change will be just as likely as other events. Well, that's not ENTIRELY true, some random events will be much less likely than others (I'm thinking the Wolf Howls event, because that's a special case), but general random events will be quite a bit less...repetitive, is the hope.

Oh, and I've added some dream content. You'll need to buy a dreamcatcher to get it, which costs money (of course), but suffice to say, it'll have some...weirder dreams available. Fetishistic dreams, let's say.

  1. Any news is good news as far as I'm concerned and I'm loving the sound of the dreamcatcher! Can't wait for the next update!

  4. What about the convent, so far your build has it so you can't upgrade the stats of the girls. Are we going to be able to do that in the next update?

  5. Just be happy we have an update coming out. Finishing the brothel so that stats change and that pregnancies are implemented would be nice, as would finishing the fight club and the beach. The random events and Brittney should be a good update.

    1. Yeah, I'd like to see the brothel finished before starting new things, but the addition of more random events and the dreamcatcher is welcome.

My favorite random dream was the broodmother one, I hope one of the new ones is like that too.

  7. Ah, awesome! Much as I want to see Britney's story finished, more randoms always help keep things fresh.

Like some of the other commenters have said, though, it *would* be nice to see some (really old) things finally finished. Hell, Genevieve hasn't been added to in over a year now

  8. Hey, I just wanted to say I love this game, played it a dozens of time, each with several hour long walkthroughs. ( I swear to god I have games in my steam library I paid for that don't get that much attention). Can't wait for the next update, regardless of when it will be ready.

Some little things that bug me:
    - Could we get some items/options that help keeping arousal in check without making the character sex crazed? I was roleplaying a character that wanted to have a change of heart after getting arrested for indecent exposure, but sadly Praying, or reflecting in the pew do not lower arousal. In the future will there be a possibility to negate, at least partially all that bonus arousal from slutty traits?
    - Also the police take the Testing Item and never give it back. Justice works in strange ways.

  9. Have you thought about offbeatr? I don't mind to donate if u r willing to actually make the game in strict period of time.

    1. See the thing is, if I remember right, AM's got both a full-time job AND is taking classes. Much as we all might wish it were otherwise, strict scheduling just doesn't work when you're making a game - for free - in very limited free time

  10. I think something I would like to see would be another club, besides the bar, with some new people to seduce, as well as something more to the busker job, like booking gigs at venues that pay a lot more, and going to concerts/backstage/after parties both as a performer and just socially. Sadly, with all the time he has eaten by more important things, like work and school, I don't know if we'll ever see that level of development. I wish I knew how to do work on this game, because I would absolutely volunteer some time. lol Thanks for hanging in there, even with everything you have going on.

  11. Tylera, there is an event submissions page linked at the top: http://anonymousmangames.blogspot.co.uk/p/event-submissions.html

If you want to submit a few dreams to be added, just write them and email them in. If you want to write simple events, a paragraph for the first part, a list of options and a paragraph for each option is easy enough. For complicated stuff, you will need a format that lets you keep track of what you're doing.

I started writing one as a text file, with lines of ... ... to indent menus, options, skill checks and so on. While I was doing that, I found another way, which I now prefer: Google Drive spreadsheets.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgGw_NjLg4PtdDVvckl2RW85THFCU1Y0UG1wZmliZ0E&usp=sharing

Ones I wrote for another game that way have run to 16 columns and 15 rows for a small one and 28 columns and 106 rows, divided into four phases and an aftermath, for the biggest one. I find it's a lot easier to write and edit them in that format than to use text files with "if no go to paragraph 12" like one of those old CYOA books.
