Monday Work (Progress Report)

Alright, I finally got Mike's first encounter finished, with the exception of the actual arousal reduction for having sex with him, which is just a couple of commands to account for fetishes and then a timer, so no big deal. Goddammit, there's a lot of variation in that first encounter, but I really wanted to take the time to account for a lot of different things, so hopefully I succeeded in that.

That means I can move on to other stuff starting tomorrow, yay. I think I'll leave Mike's subsequent visits for another time. They won't be quite as complicated as his first visit, but the LAST visit (if you choose a particular path in your interactions with him) will be, if only because he'll have a couple of different possible reactions at that point.

Question Time: Fenoxo suggested that I make the Patreon link more visible. What do you think? He also suggested that I use some fanart to fancy the place up, but there's not exactly a lot of that going around.

  1. Does "moving on to other stuff" include bees? :D

  2. Since Cursed is more or less text only, I understand there not being artwork as such.

Though, something like a "book-cover" for the game (art that could also be used on the website) might be an idea?

Maybe comparable to "Choice of Games" interactive books/games, those are devoid of art, though there's often cover-artwork.

Well, Fenoxo's stuff is all text based too; he just has enough of a following to have people make fanart of his stuff. If AMan can find it, I don't see why posting it would be a bad thing. With link credits of course.

  3. Having the patreon link more visible couldn't hurt.
One thing about the patreon, I think that the artist thing is kinda impossible for the player's appearence, unless you do something like HHS+'s paperdoll or something like that.
To me if you reach that goal you should concentrate more on NPCs really. About that, I think Cursed has little fanart because it's very player-centric at least for now, and with the player's appearence changing so easily, it's not good material for fanart. With more NPCs added or given attention I think fanart should pop up sooner or later being based on their descriptions

    1. I'm not crazy about the art goal in general since, afaik, you can't turn art and pictures off in RAGS. Personally, I'd rather just have text. Not really my choice though.

    2. There would be an art and a non-art version available.

  4. I am surprised that there isn't more traffic for the patreon link to be honest. Everywhere this game is located it has a large base of people that love it so I think if you get it more visible you will have more traffic there. Best wishes and keep it up this game is still my favorite. -N

    1. The game WAS popular, but the prolonged inactivity probably made many people forget. It will, hopefully slowly build up again as the old fans re-discover that the game is worked on again ;)

  5. Hey! Anony here. You could do WordArt in Word for your title of Cursed. That's how I did the Apocamorphosis one in my game. It's not super professional but it works!

You start with a blank page.
Insert, WordArt (it looks like a tilted A).
Then make the font nice and big or whatever size you like.
Mess with different fonts until it feels like one fits your game.
After that, save it as an image or JPEG...then you can use this website...https://pixlr.com/editor/ (it's like adobe I've heard) and touch it up.

    Hope that helps!

    1. Also, try this code, I can't post it to your page in the comment box so I'll email it to you. I made it for my game, so if you tweak it to lead to your patreon it should create a good sized button without throwing it in people's faces. Here's a link to my game if you want to check out the Patreon button looks.

  6. Fan art is a good idea that will draw a lot more attention. Also I'm so glad you started working on this again, I love this game. =3

  7. I agree with Fenoxo about making the Patreon link more visible. Would definitely help with attention to it.

  8. Well Fenoxo is making a fuckload of money off of his games, so he probably knows what he's talking about.

  9. I think it should be postet on more sites like tfgamessite.com, that Anonymous Man is back and developing on Cursed. Maybe the old fans will komm back and new ones turn up.

  10. I think both ideas are great, this game deserves notoriety.
